Matt. 18:1-5

The disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

tip: When we see the disciples we see ourselves.

When wee see what they struggle with we see our greatest struggles too.

“Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

Positional question. Who ranks at the top? Which of us is most important?
Churches ask the same question. What must we do to be greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?
Jesus’ answer is startling.

The answer Jesus gave is not positional but personal.

“He called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them...

Don’t overlook the smallest person closest to you.

vrs. 3 Unless you are converted (change of mind, heart, attitude) and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

It takes a change of heart to “see” the importance of “the unimportant” people.

Jesus valued “the one.”

Jesus took time with “the one.”

vrs. 4 Whoever humbles himself as a little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Matt. 19:13-14 Little children were brought to Him that he might put his hands on them and pray for them, but the disciples rebuked them.

“Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.”

vrs. 5 “whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives me.”

Being converted and becoming as a little child Humbling yourself as a little child.

Receiving one little child as this receives me.

Jesus is after the alignment of our hearts to his priorities.

God’s clear desire is to bless the generations.

Personal Spiritual Renewal and Strategic Initiative.
