Family Life Center & Fitness Center
Sports and Recreation at Myrtle Grove for children, youth and adults.

The Myrtle Grove Sports and Recreation Ministries include the Family Life Center (FLC), the Fitness Center and Myrtle Grove Park.

Family Life Center

The FLC houses a gymnasium, classroom and meeting space, kitchen, activity/game room, restrooms and showers. The FLC helps us create a family friendly environment where people can connect with God while building healthy relationships through sports and recreation for children, youth and adults.

CURRENT SPORTS AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Basketball leagues for children and youth, both boys and girls ages six to thirteen through Halo Hoops Ministries. (Our fourteen year olds and above participate in other church and city basketball leagues.)
  • Adult open gym goes year round on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6 – 7 AM.
  • In the summer, we offer camps and various family events to help you connect and build with family, friends and neighbors.
  • Family Game Night (Game Night)
  • Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Walking, Women's Fitness and Table Tennis Clubs/Leagues (Clubs/leagues)

Fitness Center

The P.E. PLACE (“The place for Praise and Exercise”) is the name of Myrtle Grove’s fitness center.  The PE Place was established to help church members have a safe place to proactively care for their spirit, souls and bodies.  New relationships are being formed and the body of Christ at Myrtle Grove is becoming more connected.  Many are coming who have never exercised and are finding hope.  Prayer ministry regularly occurs as members share their lives while working out.  Worship is being experienced and the joy of fellowship is being felt (along with the pain that accompanies disciplining our bodies). The Fitness Center is sponsored by the Sports and Recreation ministries of Myrtle Grove Church.

Fitness Center is open 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., Mon - Fri,  and Sat morning, 8:30-12:30.  Complete an application and attend orientation before beginning workouts.  To get a registration form and more details, click the link below.  Fitness Center Applications are also available in the church office and foyer.  Questions?  Contact David Kolk (791-6179), our Sports and Recreation Director or Barbara Kolk (880-0778).   “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2).

Myrtle Grove Park

With 20 more acres of church property still to be developed, our church family’s “Backyard,” recently renamed Myrtle Grove Park, is soon to be an even greater place to connect and build through sports and recreation for children, youth and adults. Whether it’s joining a sports league, picnicking at one of the shelters, attending a camp, taking a walk or jog or playing on one of the more than ten sport venues that will be available, the whole church family is sure to find itself growing together with friends and neighbors. See conceptual drawings of Myrtle Grove Park on the church bulletin boards.
