Sunday Morning Classes
These classes are offered Sunday mornings 1/10 - 5/23.

Colossians & Philemon

Facilitated by Stacey Miller, Administrator of Myrtle Grove Christian School - Room 120 - Feb. 21 - May 23

This class is targeted to young couples and/or parents of school-aged children.

What do you do when it becomes unusual to set a Christian example in the workplace and community, or when it grows increasingly difficult to hold together a Christian household?  What do you do when you and your children are bombarded with non-Christian ideas; and, in searching for direction, you find the Church to be doctrinally confused and indifferent?

The Christian Peacemaker:  Resolving conflicts by Biblical Principles - Led by Angie and Bud Crumpler - Room 117

Should Christians ever go to court to resolve business disputes, neighborhood quarrels, or any other conflicts arising from various forms of disagreement that we all experience from time to time?  Must Christians simply forgive and forget when someone offends them in some way?  The Bible contains much instruction on how Christians should respond in such instances.  Angie and Bud Crumpler, retired lawyers who are familiar with the limitations and expense of conflict resolution under law, have been trained in Christian conciliation by Peacemaker Ministries. They will offer instruction on what God expects of Christians entangled in controversy.

Each class will start with a 25 minute DVD presentation followed by discussion relying on a participant workbook provided to each member of the class.  In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."  Here is an opportunity to learn more about what Jesus would do. For more information see the Peacemaker website at www.Peacemaker.net

Question: Who would possibly want to attend this nonconformist revolutionary Sunday School class starting in January lasting all the way till May?

Answer: anyone from 9th grade to 90 years old who want to unpack the Great Commission then pack it up and go somewhere; down the street, New York, Belize, float on a boat with OM ships or wherever the Spirit leads you.

Salvation, Deliverance & Healing   Led by Ike Williams - Room 114

Let’s study what God has to say about salvation, healing, and deliverance.   1 John 3:8b “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” The devil, by false teaching and confusion, had separated the people from God. Thus, they needed to be saved. Many were in bondage, so they needed deliverance. Not knowing about God’s healing power, they needed healing Matthew 28:20a (Jesus’ words): “...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” We must equip the people to do this in the marketplace, on the street and in the church.

John 10:10b “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed - Led by Anne Blackley – Room 115/116

This Bible study is for women who desire to grow deeper, be established and directed in their everyday walk by the Holy Spirit.   This is a “Deeper Still” Bible Study taught by Priscilla Shiver, Beth Moore and Kay Arthur.  These women represent three generations committed to God and the teaching of His Word.  Come expecting to take a step deeper into being anointed, transformed and redeemed through these teachings, sharing and prayer.  A study guide will be available.

Invading the Impossible Through Prayer and Intercession -  Taught by Patsy Lennon - Room 118/121

Prayer is always asking God to do what we cannot. There are many wonderful examples: in the Book of Acts, where believers invaded the impossible through their prayers and intercession. In Acts 3, Peter commanded a lame man to rise up and walk. In Acts 9:40, Dorcus was restored to life. In Acts 19:11, the Bible said, God worked unusual miracles.  Jack Hayford says prayer is a partnership between God and man working together to see God’s plan and purpose fulfilled on the earth. (according to 1 John 3:8) The Son of man was manifest to destroy the works of the devil. John Wesley said that God will do nothing on Earth except in answer to believers prayer. In other words, if the Church does not pray, God does not act on our behalf. Come join us for this comprehensive study!

Genesis - The Beginning  Taught by John Gonzalez – Room 112

Why creation instead of evolution?  Why a young earth and not billions of years?  Why death; why government; why marriage (one man to one woman); why capital punishment; and why not destroy the unnecessary and unwanted? Why no such thing as random Fate or Destiny?  And really why CHRIST?  By the grace of God, these are like questions we will discuss...and it will be a discussion class, primarily.  This will be a Bible study that attempts to discover the depth and significance of the first eleven (11) chapters of the book of GENESIS.

Time of Discovery, Discussion and Prayer - Led by Michael Escalante and Phil Stump - The Lounge

An hour spent discovering, discussing and praying about End Times. How do current events reflect Bible Prophecy and how does Bible Prophecy foretell these current events?  We will begin with a time of prayer, discover a timely current event, discuss its relevance to Biblical Prophecy and pray for wisdom to apply what the Holy Spirit has revealed.

Islam, Israel and The Body of Christ: Historical, Biblical and Spiritual Implications for the Middle East, the United States and the Future    -    Taught by Robin Novak - Room 111

Usually we analyze world events by looking through the lens of politics and economics. This fails to give an accurate picture. “To truly understand the significance of global events and trends, one must analyze them through a third lens as well: the lens of Scripture. Only then can the full picture become clear.” Joel Rosenberg, Epicenter.

Many are saying that Islam is the world’s fastest growing religion, and will be the largest religion in the world within the next twenty years if present trends continue. Israel is in a struggle for her very survival.  What does it all mean, and where is God in all of this? Jonathan Edwards, the Great Awakening preacher of the 1700’s said “The task of every generation is to discover in what direction God is moving and move with Him”. What lies ahead could be the body of Christ’s greatest challenge ever.
